The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST will cost less and have a greater range of 440 miles
With sales expected to begin in mid-2024, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST is almost ready for purchase. GM has provided us with some additional information.
Now that an official range estimate is available, it is noticeably greater than what Chevy had previously stated. The original estimate of 400 miles was easily surpassed by the RST, which is rated for 440 miles on a full charge. With 450 miles on its rating, the 4WT is the only Silverado EV in the trim mix that can drive farther than this one. Nevertheless, since the 4WT is the Work Truck specification, it sacrifices a great deal of personal comforts and luxury for a negligible increase in range. Notably, this easily defeats competitors such as the Ford F-150 Lightning, Tesla Cybertruck, and Rivian R1T, making the Silverado EV the range king among electric trucks.
Today also offers a final beginning price, but only for the First-Edition RST model. The starting price of the Silverado EV with all the bells and whistles is $96,495 (destination fee included). Once more, that represents a nearly $10,000 increase above the initial price that Chevy had estimated it would be. But let’s not forget how Chevy raised the price of its Work Truck when it went on sale from the $39,900 listed price to $77,905. It goes without saying that the cost of new electric vehicles has been a difficult area to predict.
